The map results from a satellite survey carried out by the University of Nottingham. It picked up a large area of subsidence centred on Kennington Park – the only major subsidence anywhere in the South-East. TfL have now admitted is that the cause is their dewatering activity in the Park. TfL have claimed that there will be no adverse impacts on property as a result, but there is no independent verification of this. Neither is there independent verification that, once dewatering stops (scheduled for later in the year) the land will gradually return to its previous level with no damage to property. This is what TfL claim. Many residents are skeptical!
